HOW TO PLAY IN THE EVENT MODE

after you see the sign for an event, if you push a nose button within 7 seconds you can participate. If you don't participate and leave it alone, it'll get back to its normal pet mode.

Touch the tail button to quit an event in the middle of it. It'll get back to it's pet mode.

COMPOSING MUSIC EVENT

idog's face will blink in many colors and let you know the event.
When you participate...
idog will play an original music that reflects it's feeling at that time. If you have been playing with it for a long time, it'll play longer music.

PLAYING MUSIC EVENT

idog's face will blink in orange light and play "beautiful dreamer" to let you know the event.
When you participate...
It'll play famous tunes you've heard randomly. One song per event. It will get into sleep mode after playing.

How to participate more in this event:
While idog is in this playing music event mode, wave your hands near its head-- the tone of the song will change. If you wave your hands in different ways, it'll respond differently.

Note: the light sensor on the face reacts to lightness/darkness of the light.
Note: depending on how dark your room is, it might not react very well.

How to replay a song from the playing music event:
The songs played in the playing music event mode will be put into idog's memory and you can play it as you like. Follow these steps:
1. During pet mode, push both of the head buttons (A and B) at the same time for 2-3 seconds.
2. idog will chime 3 times to let you know that you can play the music you like.
3. At first it will play "toy soldiers"
4. head button A will fast-forward to the next song, head button B will replay.

Note: when you switch to this mode without playing any "playing music mode" prior, it'll just play "toy soldiers"
Note: if you leave it in the middle of it, after playing 3 songs it'll get back to pet mode automatically.
Note: during this mode you can also wave your hands to change tones
Note: during this event it will not move its ears or head with the music
Note: when you change battery, it will erase the songs put in the memory

PLAYING MODE WITH MUSIC FROM OUTSIDE SOURCE

Use a stereo mini-plug cable (see illustration) to connect idog with CD player or other audio equipment. idog will move with its rhythm. (control volume in the audio equipment.)

Note: depending on the music source, sometimes it will not be in sync or it will not move
Note: plug in or out after you set the volume down
Note: when you plug in, it'll automatically get into the "outside source input mode"
Note: if you plug it in during the event mode, it'll just play the music but will not move with the music

VOLUME CONTROL

A button to bring the volume down, B to bring it up--while you press the nose button.

Note: you cannot turn the sound off.

AUTO SLEEP MODE

If idog is left alone for a while, it'll automatically get into sleep mode.
(3 minutes when in pet mode, 5 minutes outside source playing music mode)
You can force it to get into sleep mode if you press the nose button for 3-4 seconds.

HOW TO PLAY IN THE PET MODE

changes in how idog feels: idog expresses how strongly he feels about something by how fast the light goes around.

Explanation on how the emotions change:
idog changes its emotions with different buttons. Here are the tendencies:
- nose switch: becomes happy (light: orange)
- head (A/B) switch: becomes calm, friendly (light: green)
- tail switch: becomes happy (light: red)

example 1: red right goes around fast: very happy
example 2: orange light goes around slowly: a little happy
how to read the speed of light: after you reset it, the green light goes around when it starts up-- that's "slow".

HUNGRY!

How it tells when it's hungry:
When idog gets hungry, it'll tell you.
Idog satisfies its hunger by listening to sound from player or music.
When idog plays the "hungry" sound (it sounds like a ramen stand guy who goes around town-- not that you guys would know what that sounds like...), if you talk to him or play music for him, his hunger will be satisfied and he will play the "thank you" music ("a little brown bottle"-- that's the name of the song.)

Note: if you leave him alone too long it will continuously play the "hungry" sound

IMITATION

How to use the microphone:
During the pet mode (waiting period), if you talk to idog it will get into the imitation mode. It will hear you and replay it according to how he heard it. 4 seconds max. Not that you would know what it's saying.

How the imitation mode flows:
1. Talk to idog while it's waiting
2. idog's middle lamp goes on and off in green
3. if you record a sound, the light changes to red
4. while it's red (4 seconds) you can record
5. when it finished recording the lamp will turn green and it'll start playing

Note: sometimes, depending on the surrounding, it might record noise also.
